The CHE PTO strongly believes in giving children the opportunity to give back to their community.  With multiple events throughout the year, students and families are invited to participate in service events sponsored by the PTO both during the school day and after.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of CHE Cares! Since its beginning, Cedar Hills students and families have supported dozens of local nonprofit organizations through after-school events, donation drives, and Kindness Week activities. The CHE Cares Committee is excited for another year of helping our community and teaching our students the importance of kindness and service.

 


๐Ÿฅซ Fall Food Drive for Community for Kids

๐Ÿ“… October 6 – 14

 

Each grade is invited to bring specific items:

  • Kindergarten – Fruit cups or oatmeal packets

  • 1st Grade – Granola bars (protein preferred), peanut butter cracker packs, or individual peanut butter cups

  • 2nd Grade – Rice-A-Roni or snack-size Cheez-Its

  • 3rd Grade – Shelf-stable pudding cups or yogurt pouches

  • 4th Grade – 14 oz. cans of ravioli or canned chunky Healthy Choice/Progresso soup (not condensed)

  • 5th Grade – Canned tuna/chicken or boxes of macaroni & cheese

Families are invited to join us in sorting and counting all the food donations. In addition, students will work on several meaningful service projects, including:

  • Creating fall décor for a local nursing home

  • Decorating cards for CHE staff

  • Making no-sew fleece blankets for Red Bags KC

  • Assembling snack packs for children in need through ScrapsKC’s Teacher Resource Center
